Interacting with someone on Twitter you wouldn’t have met otherwise is kind of fun. It’s even more exciting to engage with a bunch of people at a Tweetchat.
The good thing about the Internet is that now you have this incredible tool to present your skills and experience in a way that’s visually appealing. The bad thing about the Internet is that often it is not obvious how to do that or where to go.
Most of the time looking for work involves active searching — entering the right terms into search engines, scouting countless sites for ads that may correspond to the kind of work that you’d be able to excel at. It’s a lot of work, looking for work.
I’ll be honest — I really dislike the idea of LinkedIn but everyone says that I need to be on it in order to increase my chances of finding work. I keep getting invited too — why does this continue to happen?! What’s your take on LinkedIn, and if I have to do it, how do I get started?
