Videos: Newcomers working in alternative jobs

Settlement.Org has produced videos of 13 newcomers to Canada talking about their experiences of entering and working in an alternative job (one different from what they were originally trained to do but in the same or a similar field) and their future career plans. Profiles include a dentist who is now working as a dental assistant, a teacher working as an employment consultant, and a doctor working as a personal support worker.

Do I need to be on LinkedIn?

Question: 

I’ll be honest — I really dislike the idea of LinkedIn but everyone says that I need to be on it in order to increase my chances of finding work. I keep getting invited too — why does this continue to happen?! What’s your take on LinkedIn, and if I have to do it, how do I get started?
