Funniest thing happened to me at work
A friend of mine told me about the time when she worked in a restaurant as a waitress. It was close to the end of the shift and she went upstairs to wipe the floor and clean up the tables. She was really tired. She sat down on one of the couches for a second and ... woke up with her boss standing over her asking her what the hell she was (not) doing. Sadly, she got canned but she had a great story to share and share it she did.
Another friend told me about the time when he sent a love poem intended for his girlfriend but instead sent it to his professional association. And I’ve sent an email to a former boss signing it off “xo” without thinking (we didn’t have that kind of a relationship, ugh). I’ve heard of people forgetting to turn off the microphones and saying things that should either be left unsaid or at least said in private. President Barack Obama famously got caught telling former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev about future flexibility when it comes to missile defence. He thought the mike was off … but the mic was on. And this wasn’t the first time for Obama — at the G-20 summit in 2011 he was overheard agreeing with the former French President Nicolas Sarkozy (also caught on tape!) about not being able to stand Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister. Oops.
